Hans Harkert
Born February 17, 1852 in Holstein, Germany
Wife Huida Weissermil.
Foreman of Rudolph Priester company from 1878 to 1892.
On July 8, 1892 he started his own cigar factory under the name of Hans Harkert. In February 1893 he went into partnership with Julius Goos. The Harkert Cigar Company incorporated in January 1906.
Hans Harkert died May 5, 1922. The estate was sold in October 1922. New owners: William J. Moeller, president; C. F. Kammerer, vice president; and J. H. Schultz, secretary and treasurer.
Factory closed in 1927
